What our JavaScript developers do

This page is for work that crosses the whole codebase: a move to TypeScript, a feature that touches both the screen and the API, years of jQuery, a build that nobody dares to touch. We shortlist generalists who are calm in mixed and older code, not only in a fresh template. If one framework is the whole job, a React developer or a Node.js developer is the more precise hire. For an application we build for a fixed price, see web application development.

Selected Work

Front ends our developers built in JS/Next.js and Vue.

How hiring works

01

04

You describe the role

The parts of the stack, the share of old and new code, the build tools, the hours and the seniority.

02

04

We send a shortlist

Usually within 1 to 3 weeks; a niche or very senior profile can take 4 to 6 weeks.

03

04

You interview

A technical interview, a review of code they wrote before or a short paid test task: your choice.

04

04

The developer starts

We arrange onboarding and access, the developer joins your next sprint, and each month you get a report on the hours and the work.

Need a JavaScript developer who can work across your whole codebase, old parts included?

What you get

Every commit, every type definition and all the intellectual property are handed over to you under the contract.

icon

A shortlist of 2 to 4 developers matched to your mix of front end, back end and legacy code.

icon

You interview each candidate and make the final call.

icon

Contracts, NDAs, equipment and access to your repository, tracker and servers, arranged by us.

icon

A developer inside your process: your sprints, your pull requests, your stand-ups.

icon

A monthly report on hours and work, plus regular check-ins.

icon

A replacement if the developer does not fit, with the handover organised by us.

How you can work with us

Whatever the format, the work is shaped around how your business runs, not a template, and what we build belongs to you. The same people and standards in three formats: choose the one that fits your stage, or combine them.

Developers by stack

One specialist or several, in your team and under your management. Pick the stack:

Pricing

$45 to $65 an hour

The rate depends on seniority (middle, senior or lead), on full time or part time work, and on niche skills such as large TypeScript migrations, complex build setups or browser extensions. Compared with a local hire in the US or Western Europe, the cost is usually 40 to 60% lower.

You pay by the hour for the hours actually worked, on one monthly invoice. The rate covers selection, contracts, equipment, HR support, replacements and monthly reports. Hosting, browser store accounts and your other tools and licences stay on your side.

FAQ

Will one full-stack developer be enough?

For a small product or a steady flow of features across the stack, often yes. When the front end or the back end alone has more work than one person can carry, a specialist for that side is the better choice. We advise, you choose.

Can they work in our jQuery code without rewriting everything?

Yes. They fix and extend what is there first, and replace old parts only when you agree it pays off.

Can we move to TypeScript without stopping releases?

Yes, that is the usual way: TypeScript is switched on next to the existing JavaScript and the code is typed file by file alongside normal work.

What about time zones and hours?

Our developers are in Ukraine and Eastern Europe: 3 to 5 hours of overlap with Western Europe and 2 to 4 hours with the US East Coast. Most are flexible with hours and work well async.

What if the developer does not fit?

Tell us. We replace the specialist and organise the handover.

Can we hire the developer in-house later?

Ask us. We discuss it case by case.

When is old jQuery code a risk rather than just old?

When the versions are known to be vulnerable. Bootstrap 3 reached end of life in July 2019 and Bootstrap 4 on 31 December 2022, both depend on jQuery, and any jQuery build older than 3.5.0 carries a documented cross-site scripting vulnerability. A page can look normal and carry both. The first task is a list of the versions in use; then the pages that earn money get tests before anything is updated.

Who publishes our browser extension to the stores?

The developer builds the extension on Manifest V3 and prepares each release for Chrome, Edge or Firefox, and it is published through your own developer accounts in those stores. The store accounts, like your hosting and other tools, stay on your side and are not part of the hourly rate.

Can AI coding tools replace a JavaScript developer?

They change the work but do not remove the need for someone who answers for it. AI can rewrite code for a new version in minutes, but a developer still has to check that the contact forms deliver leads and that the pages that earn money still work. In mixed old and new JavaScript, that checking is most of the job.

What do you need from us to build the shortlist?

The parts of the stack the developer will touch, the share of old and new code, the build tools, the hours and the seniority you expect, and whether someone on your side reviews the code. With that we usually send 2 to 4 screened candidates within 1 to 3 weeks; a niche or very senior profile can take 4 to 6.
